Teaser Tuesday (3)

Hi! This is a weekly meme hosted at Should Be Reading. You are only required to open the book you're reading at a random page and share two teaser sentences with other bloggers. Since I'm reading two books at a time this week, you'll get two teaser sentences for each.

Two teaser sentences for Footsteps by Katharine McMahon.
"When Maud returned from her brief holiday she agreed with Alan that an attempt must be made to move Julia to London. If the alternative was an asylum drastict measures must be taken." (p. 96)

Two teaser sentences for The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss.
"He slid his fingers under the wrapper and pinned the jeweled brooch to the burgundy velvet over her breast though his fingers trembled at the warmth of her soft flesh and it took him longer than it seemed normal.'Can you fasten it?' she questioned, watching his lean, brown hands at their task." (p. 289)
