R.I.P. V Challenge

Stainless Steel Droppings is hosting a great challenge called R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril Challenge, or R.I.P.

It is time to celebrate things that go bump in the night; that favorite detective that always gets his man, or woman, in the end; that delicious chill of a creak on the stairs, of the rogue waiting in the dark, of the full moon and the flit of bats wings.

R.I.P. V officially runs from September 1st through October 31st.

I decided to participate in two Perils. Peril the First: Read four books, any length, that you feel fits my very broad definition of scary. Short Story Peril: You can read short stories any time during the challenge.

For Peril the First, I intend to read the following:
Charlaine Harris: Grave Sight
Neil Gaiman: The Graveyard Book
Henry James: The Turn of the Screw
Danielle Trussoni: Angelology

Now I have a reason to FINALLY read these books.

For Short Story Peril, I definitely see Poe in the picture, as well as Sheridan Le Fanu, and even some Oscar Wilde. Whatever comes my way that fits into this challenge, I'll read it.

I love September and October, they are my favourite months of the year, and autumn is just bliss, so this challenge is just perfect.

Just finished "reading" the audio version of The Graveyard Book. Wasn't my first time, but it was every bit as enjoyable reading it for the third time, I believe it was. Wonderful to have you on board with us. Sincerely hope you enjoy the challenge.

nice list!

The audio version of 'The Graveyard Book' is fantastic because it is Gaiman reading it, and he is so enjoyable to listen to...course, reading the book is pretty good, too.
