Vive L’Amour: Music Hop

Random Magic Tour: Vive L'Amour

He Said/She Said: Musical blog hop

Romance, flirting, mad passion,
melancholy regret and bitter heartbreak…
Find songs that share every nuance of love
from male and female points of view,
on this sweet musical blog hop!

Music is a strong theme in Random Magic -- so strong, in fact, that one of the celestial characters Winnie and Henry meet is Efterpe, the Muse of music.

Love is another strong theme in the book, and so in honor of Valentine’s Day, here’s a fun blog hop to check out, featuring songs about love.

You are here: #4 of 7: This Miss Loves To Read

Let It Be Me - Ray LaMontagne

He said:

There comes a time, a time in everyone's life
Where nothing seems to go your way
Where nothing seems to turn out right...
That's when you need someone
Someone that you can call
When all your faith is gone
Feels like you can't go on
Let it be me
Let it be me
If it's a friend you need
Let it be me

Song’s commentary on love: Love arrives over time, for some. Genuine
love and deep friendship are often the same thing. Or: Sometimes the
most profound love can be recognized in the simplest gestures.

Den milo gia mia nixta ego - Eleftheria Arvanitaki

No, I don't speak for one night
I don't speak for one evening
I don't speak for one caress
It's for a lifetime that I'm speaking

Lyrics: English translation
Song’s commentary on love: Some people are only interested in a love
that lasts a lifetime.

Random Magic quote:
He’d slept for a few hours, waking up from time to time to see if
Winnie was still there. She was.
She shook him awake once, and shoved a bit of bread and sausage at
him, along with a handful of roughly sliced pond apple. She’d hacked
it up as fine as she could with the broken knife, so that he could
manage to eat it; his lip was still swollen.
“Eat that,” she told him gruffly. “You’ll feel better.”

I love these posts! I'm trying to pick a different love song that I like for each blog post. For yours, I've reached Pop, and my favorite is Secrets by One republic because I think that someone you love is someone you can tell all your secrets too.
